Sheyla was classically trained in ballet. After graduating high school in Puerto Rico, Sheyla went to the Hartford Conservatory graduating with an Associates degree in Nutrition Essentials, Dance pedagogy and performance. While in CT Sheyla danced with the Hartford Ballet, Connecticut Ballet and spent a summer dancing with the Bolshoi Ballet of Russia. Shortly after, Sheyla moved to NYC were landed a full scholarship to dance at Steps on Broadway and later taught beg. and int. jazz in their youth program for a few years. Sheyla also taught ballet in Puerto Rico and master classes to youth throughout the island.
Some dance credits include Sleeping Beauty (Diamonds), Fire bird, Paquita , West Side Story (Anybodys), Cats (Victoria), Sweet Charity (Carmen) and many more. Fitness credits include certifications from NASM, Cardio Barre, TRX, flex shaper videos, Yoga works barre works, dance works and sculpt works and training hand in hand with Billy Blanks for many years.
Sheyla became certified in Pilates after getting mugged in the NYC subway and needing physical therapy for my hip. Pilates was the only thing that helped her recover quick enough to go back to dancing and the only thing that helped correct her severe scoliosis. After that, she knew fitness was my true calling!
